The department of Intelligent Detection has in-depth, long term research experience in fields of the space electronic information and the intelligent detection. Its research area includes, but not limited to: reliability theory and protection methods for electronic system; advanced circuit design-theory, methodology, and technology; modern image engineering and photoelectric detection technology, etc.
Backed by distinguished faculties and research staffs in the intelligent detection field, the department has established the Intelligent Control and Image Engineering (ICIE) Institution. Currently ICIE has 9 full-time faculty members and research staffs, including one steering committee of the ministry of education, 1 Ph.D. supervisor, 2 professors, and 2 master supervisors. 8 faculty members are doctoral degree holders.
In recent years, the department has hosted over 40 national projects including the national 863 projects, national natural science foundation, pre-research foundation of general armament department of China, basis research project of the national defense. The department has successfully attracted some 5 million (in Chinese dollar) research funding and won several prizes on science and technology at the rank of provincial level and above. It is also authorized dozens of patents for innovations and inventions. It does the in-depth research in the related field and has the faculty’s research outcomes reported in some 20 SCI/EI-indexed, high rank journal and conference papers.
This department is the supporting department for the secondary discipline of the detection technology and automation devices. It admits Ph.D. students majored in the circuit system, as well as the technology of testing and measuring instruments. The department provides two options for master students, i.e., master by research and master of professional studies. The former admits students with specialties of testing and measuring instruments, while the latter enrolls students majored in control engineering and electronic information engineering. So far over 20 Ph.D. students and 100 master students are graduated from this department. Many of them have won the best thesis award at the rank of the university level and above. These well-educated and creative young people are ambitious to make their contributions to the aerospace science field.
The department has built up extensively, long-term and closely cooperative relationship with research institutions under the Chinese Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), China North Industries Group Corporation (CNIGC), and the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC). To broaden horizons of research staffs, as well as better thrive in the highly globalized world, the department performs academic exchanges with top universities and research institutions all over the world. So far dozens of students and faculty members have been overseas for academic exchanges.
