报告摘要1:The presentation is focused on the modeling and applications of a vibroimpact (VI) pair that serves as VI Nonlinear Energy Sink (NES) for vibration mitigation. The VINES has emerged as a promising passive mechanism for vibration mitigation and consists of a ball travelling within a cavity of an externally excited linear oscillator (LO). The ball impacts either end of the cavity, transferring energy from the LO to the ball and mitigating excess oscillations of the LO. This presentation
mainly introduces the modeling and potential application field.
报告摘要2: In this presentation, we use our work with exact maps in VINES, which allow removing the previously imposed constraints and finding an exact semi-analytical solution, therefore considering a much wider set of system parameters. The analysis identifies multiple regions for the desired behaviour with two alternating impacts per forcing period and provides relevant stability conditions. Semi-analytical results indicate the influence of the mass ratio on the VINES performance and reveal whether effective vibration mitigation is achievable away from the main resonance.
