曾任挪威科技大学终身副教授博导，组建挪威境内最早之一的大数据实验室（Big Data Lab）并担任主任。担任WWW 2024（互联网领域世界顶级学术会议）工业论文共同主席， ACM TIST（智能系统顶级期刊）期刊客座编辑，入选2024“全球前2%顶尖科学家年度科学影响力排行榜”。

研究方向包括可信人工智能，大语言模型（轻量化和硬件化） 和机器人交互等。

已在国际顶级期刊和会议发表论文超过200篇（其中SCI期刊超过120篇）。主持和参与各类项目金额总计超过4500万人民币，项目覆盖大模型应用，机器人应用，智慧城市，关键基础设施，船舶和海洋，农业，医疗等。目前谷歌学术H-index 40, i10-index 114。国际论文奖4项（IEEE Outstanding Paper Award两项， EAI Best Paper Award一项和Wiley年度高引论文奖）， ESI高被引论文4篇， Wiley年度高引论文1篇。

已担任多个国际学术会议程序委员会主席和多个期刊的编委或客座编辑，长期担任多家顶级期刊审稿人，因学术服务多次获得 IEEE Outstanding Leadership Award。 现为IEEE高级会员和ACM会员，中国计算机学会形式化方法专委执行委员，嵌入式系统专委执行委员，软件工程专委执行委员，大数据专委委员，计算机安全专委委员，标准工作专委委员，达摩院青橙奖通讯评委。

   Hao’s research interests include Trustworthy AI, lightweight and embedded AI, Affordance and Human-interaction in Robotics. His H-index is 40 and i10-index is 114. He has published more than 200 academic papers in prestigious conferences and journals. He was the founding chair of IEEE IES TCII sub-committee on Health. He is a Senior member of IEEE, a member of CCF, ACM. He has served actively in academic conferences and journals, including Industry Chair for WWW 2024 and a guest editor for a topic in LLM in ACM TIST. Hao is a top 2% scientist in 2024.

   Hao has strong teaching experiences in Canada (6 years), Norway (8 years), and China (4 years), in both bachelor and postgraduate levels. He has/is supervised/ing more than 15 PhDs and more than 60 masters. In particular, he is organizing training camp in collaborations with industrial collaborators for Xidian bachelor students, which facilitates better exposure to advanced academic and industrial context.

   During Hao’s professorship in NTNU, Norway, he was the founding director of one of the earliest Big Data Lab in Norway and had close collaborations with the industries. Hao has strong fundings and industrial project experiences from Canada, Norway, and China.
