Jimin Liang received the B.S., M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in electronic engineering from Xidian University, Xi'an, China, in 1992, 1995 and 2000, respectively. He joined Xidian University in 1995, where he is now a full professor in the School of Electronic Engineering. In the year of 2002, he was a research associate professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Tennessee, Knoxville,USA. He is the vice president of Shaanxi Society of Biomedical Engineering and member of IEEE and SPIE. His general areas of research are in biomedical imaging, image analysis and pattern recognition. He has authored or coauthored more than 150 journal papers and 30 granted patents on those topics. He was the recipient of 2010 Progress Award in Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education of China and 2012 National Invention Award of China.
